Location Details

Ile de Chausey was historically one of the British Channel Islands until 1499 when it became a French territory and has remained so to this day. Its size ranges from 40 square kilometres of land at low tide revealing 365 islets encircling the main island to 1 mile in length when the tide is high.

During the summer months this island is a popular day trip venue for Channel Islanders and visitors from Granville. It can only be explored on foot, which adds to its charm, and is also frequently visited by private boat owners who wish to fish for the day or eat out in one of the French restaurants on the main island.

What to Bring

We provide you with waterproof jackets and lifejackets, but you need a valid passport as the French customs do sometimes check and some of those pesky euros. They also accept debit and credit cards.

Departure Point

All of our Chausey trips leave from St. Catherine's Breakwater.
